1941
Porcelite
As one of the first sanitary porcelain industries in Brazil, Celite was founded in São Paulo in 1941, under the name Porcelite. The founder, Francisco Salles Vicente de Azevedo. brought to Brazil the porcelain manufacturing technology, better known as “vitreous china”, a revolution in the Brazilian market.
1949
Innovation
As part of our many innovations throughout the years, in 1949 Celite developed a new type of enamel and an innovative toilet siphon design. The first production of 7,500 pieces could not meet the market demand, which led to the installation of a new continuous kiln, doubling the production to 15,000 pieces.
1959
Bathroom faucets
Celite began producing bathroom faucet to complement the porcelain collections, and improved the mass production processes for these pieces.
1968
Expansion to Minas Gerais
The brand expanded its plant to an area of 343,000 m2, in the city of Santa Luzia, 20 kilometers from Belo Horizonte. In 1968, this plant started producing 25,000 pieces per month. Six years later, with the implementation of two additional kilns, the production increased to 90,000 pieces.
1982
Industrial strength
In 1982, Celite decided to invest in the northeastern market and acquired the entire industrial plant of the company Cerâmica Marano, in the greater Recife. In this plant Celite installed a fully computerized kiln, the most modern in Latin America at the time.
1988
Construction of Seoul Olympic Village
Celite won the bidding for the construction of Seoul Olympic Village and exported 1.5 million pieces to the United States, Canada and several European countries.
1999
Roca Group
Celite was acquired by Laufen, that was then acquired in 1999 by Roca Group, a world leader in the sanitary porcelain segment, gaining even more strength and solidity in the market and benefiting from the advanced group technologies.
2005
Celite Technologies
Celite revolutionized the Brazilian market by incorporating the exclusive Ecoflush®, a Roca Group technology that provides double flushing for toilets at 3 and 6 liters.
2010
Launch of the faucets portfolio
Celite launched the faucets portfolio, and in 2014 Roca Group inaugurated a new plant in the city of Vitória do Santo Antão, in Pernambuco, to strengthen the faucets production.
2014
Launch of the furniture platform
Following the objective of offering complete solutions for the bathroom, Celite launched a furniture portfolio with integrated solutions offered in sets with porcelain and mirrors, designed for the consumer needs.
2015
International consolidation
Celite consolidated its leadership in the competitive Brazilian market and also in Latin America and Europe with exports to approximately 21 countries.
2016
Titanium® technology launch
Taking advantage of the technological expertise of Roca Group, which Celite belongs to, the brand launched the innovative Titanium® technology with thin edges of up to 5mm, offering more lightness for bathroom projects.
2018
Launch of the Rimless® system in Brazil
Reinforcing its commitment to innovation and democratization of technology, Celite launched the Rimless® system in Brazil. This technology helps to clean the inner walls of the toilet by using a jet that circulates water in 360◦ throughout the toilet bowl.
2019
Successful partnership
Celite carried out the first co-branding collaboration of the construction market with Harpic brand, from Reckitt Benckiser, launching the exclusive Smart Clean® | Harpic technology to facilitate the bathroom cleaning process.
2020
Launch of VIP toilet
Attentive to the changes in architecture and the reduction in bathroom sizes, Celite launched the VIP, the most compact toilet in the Brazilian market, with only 58cm in depth.
2021
Celite celebrated 80 years of history
Celite celebrated 80 years of history always evolving, innovating, and bringing novelties to the lives of millions of people. Certainly the brand that is the face of Brazilian bathrooms.
